In her free time, Mrs. Thomas enjoys yoga, kayaking, reading, creating unique artwork, dancing, and spending time outdoors. She loves trying new adventures and is always happy to join in a fun game. We are so excited to have Mrs. Thomas as part of the Masonboro family!

📅 Plan Ahead. Be Here.
Every school day matters!
When students are in school, they build academic skills, strengthen friendships, develop confidence, and create routines that support long-term success. While we know family time is important, scheduling vacations during our planned school breaks helps students stay connected to learning and avoid missing valuable classroom experiences.
As you begin planning for the 2026–2027 school year, please consider these scheduled breaks when making travel plans:
🗓️ Labor Day | September 5–7, 2026 (3-day weekend)
🗓️ End of First Quarter | October 24–26, 2026 (3-day weekend)
🗓️ Thanksgiving Holiday | November 25–29, 2026 (5-day break)
🗓️ Winter Break | December 19, 2026–January 3, 2027 (16-day break)
🗓️ End of Second Quarter & Martin Luther King Jr. Holiday | January 15–19, 2027 (4-day break)
🗓️ Teacher Workday Weekend | February 13–15, 2027 (3-day weekend)
🗓️ End of Third Quarter & Spring Break | March 25–April 3, 2027 (10-day break)
🗓️ Memorial Day Holiday | May 29–31, 2027 (3-day weekend)
Thank you for partnering with us to make attendance a priority. By planning family vacations during scheduled school breaks whenever possible, you’re helping every Patriot make the most of each learning opportunity.
Every day counts. Every student matters. It is our year to SOAR. 💙❤️

There’s still plenty of summer left to Make Waves Through Reading! Whether you’re relaxing at the beach, traveling, or enjoying a quiet afternoon at home, it’s the perfect time to pick up a great book.
Remember, our Making Waves Through Reading challenge encourages students to:
📖 Read 5 books
🎨 Complete 2 creative activities for each book (10 activities total)
Research shows that reading just five books over the summer can help students maintain their literacy skills and start the new school year with confidence.
As you work on your activities, remember to:
✨ Put forth your best effort.
🖍️ Be creative and neat.
📝 Include your name on each activity.
📅 Completed book lists and activities are due during the first week of the 2026–2027 school year and may be turned in either in person or digitally.
We can’t wait to see all of the amazing books you’ve explored and the creative projects you’ve completed. Keep making waves, Patriots, and have a fantastic rest of your summer! 🌊💙📚

Mrs. Lilly is excited to be joining Masonboro Elementary as a Teacher Assistant. She has been married for 19 years and is the proud mom of two amazing boys, both of whom are former Masonboro Patriots.
When she's not at school, Mrs. Lilly enjoys cheering on her boys at the golf course, spending time with her family, and relaxing at the beach. 🏖️
Mrs. Lilly has been working with children since 2016 and has experience in ABA therapy, special education, and most recently, helping open KidStrong in Wilmington, where the focus is on building strong, confident, and high-character kids.
Working with children has always been Mrs. Lilly's passion, and she believes every child deserves to feel loved, valued, included, and celebrated. She is excited to be part of each student's journey this year and looks forward to learning, growing, laughing, and making wonderful memories together. ✨
