E. A. Laney High School Bands and Ensembles

Our Marching Bucs did amazing this morning representing our school in the NC Azalea Festival Parade. Thanks to all of.our band families who came out to support us this morning!!

What a great week of band for our Laney Band students. Our All-County students had an amazing performance with the NHCS All-County Band and we also had our All-State band students recognized in this week's school board meeting as the only students from NHCS in the All-State Band.

Next Up, come support our Laney Band in the Azalea Parade next Saturday!!!

We had a fantastic Pre-MPA concert this past week as we prepare for next week's MPA performance at Ashley High School on Thursday, March 19th. We were able to recognize our Laney Band students who were selected for All-District and All-State Band. Our Eastern District Clinic was canceled back in February due to weather so these students missed being able to perform.

We are very proud of our 11 students who made All-District and our 3 Laney students who will represent our Band program and NHCS in May at the All-State clinic performance.

Our Laney Jazz Bucs had a great performance this morning at the UNCW Jazz Festival Clinic. Our students played great and learned so much. Thanks to everyone for coming out to support us and thanks to UNCW Department of Music for having us today.

What a great weekend of making music for our Marching Bucs. Friday night we celebrated our seniors at our final home game of the season and Saturday we had a terrific performance at the Swansboro Seaside Classic.
Our Marching Bucs finished 3rd overall and 1st in GE in a large class of bands. We also got to see Laney Band Alumni on the field with ECUs Marching Pirates. We finish up our fall competition season next weekend at Loris HS. We thank all of our Laney Band families for supporting our band students.

Our Marching Bucs had a great competition performance yesterday as we joined over 20 bands from the area at the Topsail HS Pirate Classic. Our Laney Band students finished with the following awards:

Drum Major 1st place
Color Guard 2nd place
Percussion 2nd place
Visual Performance 2nd place
General Effect 2nd place
Music 2nd place
3A Overall 2nd place

We also thank all of our Laney Band Parents for your support for our band students. We cant do this without you!!

Its a beautiful day for our Marching Bucs as we head to the Pirate Classic at Topsail HS. Come out and see our 2025 Marching Bucs today. Our show time is 3:55pm.

Unfortunately, due to this weekends weather the White Oak Band Day is canceled tomorrow. Make sure you get out to support our Marching Bucs next weekend as we head to Topsail HS!! Stay tuned as we work to add another competition to the schedule!!
