Kenny Oates (Supervisor of Student Services) and Heather Godwin (Student Services Education Associate) presented at the NEPBIS conference in Mystic, Connecticut on May 15th.

They focused on supporting the social and emotional well-being of all students through the use of screening tools and interventions that match student needs.

Special thanks goes to the DE MTSS TA Center for supporting our team and introducing the presentation at the conference.

Last night, we had the opportunity to listen to Jaclyn Durant (Delaware's 25-26 Behavioral Professional of the Year and school social worker at Richey Elementary School) deliver a beautiful speech highlighting all that goes into the role of behavioral health professionals in our schools.

After the speech, we were able to celebrate the huge accomplishment of Kelly Nichol (school psychologist at Conrad Schools of Science.) Being selected for Red Clay's Behavioral Health Professional of the year for 26-27 is a testament to the relationships she has with students, their families, and her colleagues. Congratulations on your accomplishment and thank you for representing Red Clay Schools .

🍎 During Teacher Appreciation Week, we proudly celebrate the incredible educators of the First State School at Wilmington Hospital who make a lasting difference in the lives of students and families every day.

The First State School gives children and adolescents who would otherwise be homebound with serious illnesses the chance to attend school with their peers while they get the medical treatment they need. Located at Wilmington Hospital, the First State School offers kindergarten through high school education to children with diabetes, sickle cell anemia, severe asthma, cancer, and other illnesses that preclude attendance at regular school.

This week, we thank our dedicated teachers for the compassion, patience, and encouragement they bring to the classroom each day. Your work helps create stability, confidence, and hope for the students we serve, and your impact reaches far beyond the classroom walls.

The Student Services department at Red Clay's district office provides support at all 27 schools and special programs. This week we're trying our best to show our appreciation to our team.
