Thank you to Governor Matt Meyer for taking the time to visit St. Michael's last week! He was joined by Sen. Elizabeth "Tizzy" Lockman and Madeleine Bayard, Senior Vice President of Rodel and Chair of the Delaware Early Childhood Council. After the Governor’s tour of our renovated facility, we had an engaging discussion around how to advance his goals of expanding access to and affordability of quality early education programs in our state.

And away they go!! We celebrated the graduation of our pre-K students on Friday with a Moving Up Ceremony next door at Bethel A.M.E. Church. Although we will miss each one of them, these schools are very fortunate to have our rising kindergarten stars: Carrcroft, Cooke, Eisenberg, First State Montessori, Hanby, Kuumba Academy, Linden Hill, Mount Pleasant, New Castle Charter, Odyssey Charter, Stubbs and Thomas Edison Charter.
Thank you to our students for their hard work and to our teachers and families for their dedication to their child's education and growth this past year. Our Kindergarten Readiness Summer Program starts July 7th to give these students even more tools to be successful this fall!

St. Michael's partnership with the Delaware Art Museum over the spring was a wonderful enrichment to our pre-school and pre-K programs. Every week for six weeks during April and May, Art Museum educators engaged each class in exploring different concepts and techniques around texture, color, shapes, lines, tools and sculpture. The program culminated with an art show on June 12 where students' works were displayed at the Museum. Their creations will be on display until the end of June, so be sure to check them out downstairs in the Kids' Corner area. We are so proud of our students and grateful for this community collaboration that helped their creativity shine!

A beautiful morning in our outdoor classroom learning about flower and vegetable gardens, planting seeds and digging in the dirt! Thank you Ms. Diana for putting together a fun, educational and engaging outdoor curriculum.
Did you know St. Michael's is a certified Outdoor Learning Site by the Delaware Institute for Excellence in Early Childhood and The Lab School at the University of Delaware?

We are so grateful that PNC thinks our early childhood educators are rock stars just like we do! Mary Liz Biddle, Client & Community Relations Director for the PNC Foundation, and other PNC team members stopped by today to let our teachers know how much they are appreciated and valued. They surprised teachers with encouraging message boards and gift certificates to purchase supplies for their classrooms.
Our toddlers enjoyed stickers and story time in the library and each pre-school student received a coloring kit. Thank you PNC for your support of St. Michael’s and early childhood education!
