A powerful night of recognition and celebration at Delaware State University as two outstanding Red Clay educators were honored for their impact and excellence.

Aiza McCollum was recognized during the Education Department’s Awards Ceremony, where select alumni were celebrated in a special tribute highlighting their continued dedication and influence in the field of education. Her leadership and commitment continue to make a lasting difference for students and school communities.

Ashley Buckingham was also honored as part of DSU’s inaugural Educators of Excellence Awards. Bringing unmatched passion, positivity, and care into the classroom each day, Ashley creates an environment where students are supported, challenged, and inspired to reach their full potential. She has also been named Warner Elementary School’s 2027 Teacher of the Year, a testament to her impact both inside and beyond the classroom.

Together, these recognitions reflect the strength, talent, and heart of Red Clay educators who are shaping the next generation and making our schools stronger every day.
