McKean FFA

Happy Graduation eve!

We want to share the amazing dedication and talent our students have with you. The McKean Floral Shop has been providing the florals for all Red Clay graduations for the past few years. This year, we had a few of the horticulture students participating in creating 200+ boutonnières for all staff as well as our large designs for the stage! Please take a look at who were the major helpers and designers below.

Boutonniere design and creation: Jolee Harding, Khadija Rajab, Edgar Diaz, Michelle Hernandez

Large floral design and creation: Ryan Reamer (all 4 on her own!)

All florals will be used for tomorrow Graduation ceremonies at the Chase Field house.

Earlier this week, Ben brought over some of his frames to do honey extraction. One of our students was able to help out and learn about the process.

Today, it is bittersweet as we say goodbye to the ultimate leader of our chapter: Grace Starrett!

Grace has been a vital, driving force in the McKean FFA for the past 4 years. Her leadership has shaped our chapter, serving as our Secretary before stepping up to lead us as Chapter President for the last 2 years! 🌟 From conventions to community service, Grace has done it all:

📝 Served as Chapter Secretary & 2-year Chapter President
🧥 Earned her official FFA Blue Jacket in 2024
🐎 Competed at the Delaware State Fair in Horse Evaluation & Photography
🌱 Attended multiple Delaware FFA State Conventions & the Vision Leadership Conference
🐾 Spearheaded countless chapter and community events—from crafting dog treats and toys for local animal rescues, to planning unforgettable FFA Week activities!

Next stop? The University of Delaware! 🐔 Grace will be heading to UD this fall to major in Elementary Education. We know she is going to make an absolutely amazing teacher! 🍎✏️

Grace, thank you for your vision, your unmatched dedication, and for leading our chapter with so much heart. You have left a lasting legacy in the blue and gold!

💙 Senior Spotlight: Saying Goodbye to Our Treasurer! 💛

Today, we are saying a bittersweet goodbye to a dedicated leader who has kept our chapter on track: Tyler Brinegar!

Tyler has been an essential part of the McKean FFA for the last 4 years, serving as our Chapter Treasurer. From the fields to the meetings, Tyler has poured his heart into this chapter. Check out some of his amazing achievements:

💙 Senior Spotlight: Saying Goodbye to our Student Advisor! 💛

Today, we are celebrating and saying goodbye to another incredible senior leader: Kaamil Alston!

Kaamil has been a vital member of the McKean FFA for the past two years, serving as our Chapter Student Advisor. Though his time with us flew by, he made a massive impact! Just look at everything Kaamil accomplished this year alone:

Today, we are celebrating and saying goodbye to a huge part of our chapter’s success: Olivia Barnes!

Olivia has been a dedicated member of the McKean FFA for the last 4 years, serving as our Chapter Sentinel for 3 of them. To say she’s been involved is an understatement! Check out just a few highlights from Olivia's amazing FFA journey:
