CCAC is proud to unveil a special legacy wall honoring the individuals whose contributions have helped shape the organization’s lasting impact throughout the city and beyond.

This meaningful celebration recognized community pillars including Bebe Coker, Darnell Miller, JoAnn Jackson, Tanya Jackson, Baba Kenyatta, Dara J. Meredith, Raye Jones Avery, and Ken Brown. The mural was beautifully created by local artist and educator Sherita Sparrow, whose work captures the spirit, history, and legacy of CCAC.

The ceremony began with opening remarks from CCAC Executive Director Shysheika Edwards, followed by a ribbon-cutting ceremony and the official unveiling of the legacy wall. Guests and honorees were invited to experience the installation, sign portrait paintings of the honorees, and enjoy light refreshments in the Edward Loper Art Gallery.

This footage also features interviews with Sherita Sparrow (the artist behind the mural) and Ken Brown (an honoree) as they reflect on the significance of the mural and CCAC’s enduring legacy in Wilmington.
