Concert week! Band spring concert Monday May 5 at 7pm. Choral spring concert Thursday, May 8 7pm.

The MPHS Bands and Choirs traveled to Boston, MA to participate in the Heritage Festivals of Music on April 10 - 12 and were awarded the following ratings and places:

Concert Band - Silver Award (non-competitive)
Symphonic Band - Gold Award and 1st Place
Jazz Band - Silver Award and 2nd Place
Guitar Ensemble - Silver Award (non-competitive)
Outstanding Band Award (overall)

Combined Choirs - Silver Award (non-competitive)
Chorale (Chamber Choir) - Silver Award and 3rd Place
Women's Choir - Silver Award and 1st Place
Men's Choir - Silver Award and 2nd Place
Elite 8 (Madrigal) - Bronze Award (non-competitive)
Show Choir - Silver Award and 2nd Place

Individual Awards went to:
Eric Bailey - Maestro Award
Sam Dimov - Maestro Award
Jeffery Peters - Maestro Award

Mount Pleasant was also awarded "The Sweepstakes Award" given to the school with the Highest Scoring Bands and Choral groups.

Mount pleasant well represented in the National Honors Ensemble with 6 students accepted!

The national honor ensembles have been chosen and selectees will be announced soon!

We had a great trip - all group performed well and earned top honors and ratings

The band and chorus are now back in Delaware!

This Sunday at 4 pm, the November tri-m coffeehouse will be broadcast over WMPH 91.7. Tune in and tell a friend!

Sound files for both Concert Choir groups and Chorale groups are posted at the MPHS music website. Please download the MP3's for your part for your group and do some "away from the classroom" work to prepare. If you would like to take the initiative to download the files and put them on a portable device that can be used in the classroom when we breakup into smaller groups that would be terrific!
