The Peter Spencer Family Life Foundation is the 501C-3 Community Development Program of the Mother African Union Church. The PSFLF CDF Freedom School is the first and only Children's Defense Fund Freedom School in the state of Delaware of over 140 Freedom Schools nationwide. We seek to engage the youth of our community in a program that will build their love for reading through well-planned lesson

s and activities in the morning. The afternoons are packed with a variety of activities including art, dance, music, swimming, field trips, etc. The CDF Freedom Schools are unique in that it empowers the scholars to be leaders, to understand the needs of the people and the world around them, and that they have a voice in what happens in their lives. They are encouraged to be critical thinkers, and to take action in their communities. The PSFLF CDF Freedom School thrives as 2 sites, in 2 different locations. Mother African Union Church houses our elementary school level scholars and Trinity Episcopal Parish houses our middle and high school level scholars.
