Cab Calloway School of Arts (CCSA) Parent Teacher Student Organization (PTSO) invites
you to join us and make a difference by supporting the education and programs offered to all students at CCSA. Throughout the year, the PTSO sponsors many fun‐filled activities for students, provides equipment and supplies and support to teachers to strengthen classroom instruction, and facilitates communication
with parents. Each year, the PTSO organizes many activities to support our school, teachers, students and parents, including the ones listed below. The PTSO has contributed to purchases equipment such as microphones for the auditorium, pianos for the piano program, upgrades to the lobby,
and contributions to many school clubs. School events:
• Ice Cream Social • Back to School Night • Spirit Days
• Choice Open House • Assessment Day • 8th Grade Finale Dance
• 8th Grade Closing Reception
Teacher events:
• Teacher In‐Service Day Meals
• Teacher Appreciation Week
• Adopt‐A‐Teacher Program
Students and Parent Activities:
• Cabby Wear – Show your school spirit! Purchase a variety of casual wear with Cab logos
• Snack Shack
• Defensive Driving Class
Fundraising:
The funds to support these efforts are accomplished through membership, fundraisers, and donations. The PTSO organizes a large fall and spring fundraiser, as well as smaller fundraisers
throughout the year, to support these programs/events. We welcome input, assistance, and suggestions for fundraisers. Membership:
We invite and encourage every family to join the PTSO. The PTSO dues are $10.00 per family. To become a member of the CCSA PTSO, please complete a membership form and return it to the Cab School Office in an envelope marked “PTSO”. Meetings:
Meetings are held throughout the year; all parents are encouraged to attend. The PTSO meetings inform parents of happenings within our school community, District activities, and legislation affecting our children. In addition, these meetings provide an opportunity for
parents to share ideas and provide positive solutions to needs within our school. Volunteers:
The PTSO relies heavily on volunteer support, and welcome all members of the community, including parents, grandparents, guardians, family members, students, and faculty. There are many opportunities to volunteer at our events throughout the school year. Every parent is
welcome to volunteer regardless of the amount of time they have available. Your involvement will benefit not only your child, but all children of CCSA. Communication
