Today, our own Terry O’Sullivan celebrates 20 years at Cape Fear Literacy Council! While she doesn’t love the spotlight, we do welcome good wishes for her if you would like to share your thoughts.
Here is what some folks are saying about Terry:
❤️ You are so much more than a business manager—you’re the gatherer of numbers, the holder of our history, and a total inspiration to us all.
❤️ You're beloved, respected, and appreciated as a person of great capability, intelligence, kindness, and know-how.
❤️ Terry is the backbone; the solid, strong, unwavering foundation that supports the organization in every stage of its growth.
Thank you for your unwavering commitment, your passion for serving others, and the example you set daily. We love you, Clipboard Queen! 🥰

Our beloved volunteer and friend, Anne Stokley, was the recent recipient of the Governor's Medallion Award for Volunteer Service. Anne has been a volunteer with Cape Fear Literacy Council since 2017. She has served as a 1-on-1 tutor, a small class teacher, and a board member.
In addition to investing hundreds of hours in teaching adults, Anne was instrumental in launching our online bookshop and community book sales. These efforts continue to raise money for our programs!
Congratulations, Anne. We are so proud and honored to be able to recognize your service to our organization and to our community. Thank you for all you do! 💙

We recently had the opportunity to attend an incredible evening of celebrations and gratitude with the Women's Impact Network. CFLC and five other wonderful education focused nonprofits received grants from this group of iconic women.
Our grant will be focused on further developing and expanding our Digital Literacy program, which actually got its initial funding through another WIN grant back in 2018! Investments like these empower us to continue meeting the needs of our adult learners and build new partnerships throughout our community.
Thank you Women's Impact Network of New Hanover County for your support!

Yesterday, our community showed up in big ways, giving donations to the Literacy Council from their hearts. We are SO grateful every day for the ability to keep these programs going and our students growing.
This year's theme is all about sustainability, and what better time to celebrate than on Earth Day? Through challenging times, hope is a rallying cry that keeps us inspired. When we see an adult learner reach their goals, it fills us with hope for their future. When a donor contributes to our organization, it gives us hope for OUR future.
Sustainability isn’t just about one day—it’s something we practice daily. We’ll be sharing more about this throughout the year. If you’d like to make a difference today, please consider donating at cfliteracy.org/donate
