Established in 1982, Myrtle Grove Christian School is a fully accredited Christian school serving students from preschool to 8th grade. MGCS is affiliated with Myrtle Grove Evangelical Presbyterian Church but is comprised of students and faculty from over 50 churches in the Wilmington area. Over the years we have earned a reputation for a rigorous academic program as well as a spiritual climate that is warm, vibrant and balanced. Smaller class sizes help us maintain high standards and a positive classroom environment.

Our 6th graders put the scientific method into action as they explored the science of helicopters! Through observation, questions, testing, and experimentation, they’re learning that sometimes the best way to understand science is to let it take flight. 🚁

Technology is constantly changing, and as parents, we want to be equipped to help our children navigate the online world with wisdom and confidence.

Ben will share practical tools to help us:

• Better protect our students online
• Understand and responsibly manage technology, apps, and their features
• Have better conversations with our children about difficult topics and the realities they may encounter online

How do you write a great sensory paragraph? Sometimes, you have to get out on the water and flood the senses!
That’s exactly what our 8th graders did. After experiencing the sights, sounds, smells, and feel of being out on the water, they returned to shore and turned those experiences into words. We can’t wait to see if Mr. Lanzo can taste the salty sea spray through their writing!
The day also included time for reflection as students worked together to reflect on September 11, 2001, and wrote thank-you notes to first responders in appreciation for their courage, sacrifice, and service. One group even had the opportunity to pray over three WPD first responders who happened to be in the coffee shop with them.
A memorable day of writing, reflection, and gratitude for our 8th graders! 💚

Today, the MGCS flag flies at half-staff in honor of the nearly 3,000 lives lost on September 11, 2001.
We remember the victims.
We honor the heroes.
We pray for the families.
We give thanks for those who served and sacrificed.
And we teach the next generation to never forget.

May we continue to remember with gratitude, honor with humility, and look to God for strength and comfort.

📚 Lower School Parent Night is coming up!

Lower School parents, we’re looking forward to welcoming you for an evening designed to help you connect with your child’s teachers and learn more about the year ahead!

We’ll begin at 5:30 PM in the MGEPC Sanctuary with an introduction from Mrs. Hughes and Mr. Noto.

Following the introduction, parents may attend one of two identical sessions:
✨ 6:00 PM — First Session
✨ 6:35 PM — Second Session

Choose whichever session works best for you!

The Warrior has officially shed his armor… and soon he’ll earn his wings!
Our secret is finally out — for the past four years, MGCS alumni Owen Arnette has faithfully served as the MGCS Warrior. From festivals, pep rallies, graduations, and the first day of school, many of you have unknowingly high-fived, cheered with, and made memories alongside Owen in the Warrior suit.
Now, we invite you to celebrate and cheer him on as he graduates from Coastal Christian High School and prepares for his next adventure as a UNCW Seahawk!
Owen, thank you for the spirit, joy, and school pride you brought to our community. Once a Warrior, always a Warrior!

Our 5th graders are officially published authors! 📚✨

This year, our students poured their hearts into writing original poems and bringing their words to life through beautiful illustrations. What began as a classroom project has now become something truly special—a published book filled with creativity, imagination, and expression.
Each page reflects not only their talent, but also their courage to share their thoughts, their voices, and their God-given gifts. 💫

We are so proud of the hard work, dedication, and creativity that went into this project. What an incredible accomplishment at such a young age!

Parent’s Day 2026 at MGCS 🤍

What a gift it was to welcome our families onto campus for another incredible Parent’s Day!

From the moment parents stepped into classrooms, it was clear—God is at work in the hearts and minds of our students. The day was filled with meaningful moments, joyful learning, and opportunities to see firsthand what makes MGCS so special.

A special shoutout to our 6th, 7th, and 8th graders! It was wonderful to see them set such a positive example as they led the lower school STEM activities.

The 4th-grade Wax Museum once again stole the show, bringing history to life in the most memorable way!

Thank you, MGCS families, for partnering with us, encouraging your children, and being such an important part of all God is doing here. We are so grateful to celebrate these moments together!
