This Labor Day, we honor and recognize the American labor movement and celebrate the hardworking men and women who help build, maintain, and strengthen our communities every day.

To our Local 150 members: thank you for your dedication, craftsmanship, and commitment to excellence. We are proud to represent such a skilled and hardworking membership.

A big shoutout to Local 150 Apprentice, Jake Marquardt, for his quick thinking and lifesaving actions. We are proud to see one of our apprentices making such a positive impact in the community. Great job, Jake!

Today, we’re recognizing our employee Jake Marquardt, whose quick thinking helped save a life while working in Calumet Park, IL.

It was just a routine Thursday afternoon when Jake noticed a woman on the side of the road, giving the Heimlich maneuver to a five-month old baby. Jake quickly parked the machine he was operating and came to the woman’s aid.

Luckily, Jake is certified in CPR. After determining that the baby was choking, Jake held the baby face down and delivered a series of back blows that freed the obstruction from the child’s throat.

When the emergency was over, Jake directed the woman to a neighborhood fire department where they could assess the child’s health. Later that day, Jake made a point to check in with the personnel at the fire department, who told him that the baby had recovered and was in ideal health thanks to Jake’s quick thinking.

Thank you, Jake, for your awareness in the field. Your heroic actions prove that we don’t just work in the community; we do our best to take care of the people who live there too.

We were honored to welcome Governor JB Pritzker and Christian Mitchell, candidate for Lieutenant Governor, to the William E. Dugan Training Center and appreciate everyone who came out to support their visit.

A special thank you to apprentices Kathleen Murphy, Ashiya Davis, Diego Delgado, and Meilin Gray, along with journey worker Dominic Mondo, for proudly representing Local 150 during the visit. We are grateful for your participation and for helping showcase the strength and future of our industry.

We're also pleased to share a photo of Jill Eichelberger, Administrative Assistant at the William E. Dugan Training Center, with Governor Pritzker during his time on campus.

Thank you to everyone who helped make the visit a success and demonstrate the professionalism, dedication, and pride that define Local 150 and the William E. Dugan Training Center every day.

What a fantastic day at our Family Picnic! Thank you to all of our members and their families who came out to enjoy the festivities.
