🌟 Our Student Advisory Council had its first meeting last week!

Students learned what it means to be part of this special group and began brainstorming ideas for their very first project. We are excited to see our student leaders share their ideas, make a difference, and help make Murrayville an even better place for everyone!

We can't wait to see all the amazing things this group accomplishes throughout the year!

🌟 Wow, Mariners! 🌟

Our first full week of the Attendance Challenge is off to a great start! 🎉 Congratulations to the classes that have already colored in all the letters of RAISE! These classes earned a star keychain for every student as a reward for their awesome attendance!

Here’s how it works: Homerooms earn one letter each day when 95% or more of their students are present. Once a class completes a word, they earn a reward!

🏆 Up next: MARINER! Which class will be the first to color in all the letters? Keep showing up and doing your part!

The challenge continues until right before Winter Break, so there’s still plenty of time to reach the goal!

❤️ Thank you, families, for making school attendance a priority. Every day matters, and every student makes a difference!

What will you see on the ballot?

On November 3, 2026, voters will consider a proposed $320.5 million bond referendum for New Hanover County Schools.

Here’s what to know before you vote!

The projects included in the proposed bond for New Hanover County Schools were determined after every NHCS facility was inspected by a third party to assess facility needs, such as roofs, HVAC, plumbing, electrical, fire protection, and other areas.

The findings from the third-party facility assessments were considered alongside the independent discussions and priorities identified through district wide staff meetings, community town halls and the Capital Finance & Bond Committee. Together, these sources helped inform which needs and projects were prioritized for inclusion in the proposed bond.
