The Kresge Greenhouse is a living classroom/laboratory which allows for year-round supplies of botanical resources that support classes and labs.
We are available for tours by appointment only, but do enjoy visitors when we're open.

We’ve heard you, so here it is!
The Kresge Greenhouse and the Department of Art and Art History is finally hosting “Growing in 3D” plant sale next Thursday, April 30! From 11:00 am - 1:00 pm, come support our ART 370 students by purchasing one of their 3D printed clay planters and pot it with a desired greenhouse plant!
We’ll be located in front of the greenhouse in the garden area with tables of plants you’d want in your spring garden! A selection of veggies, herbs, flowers, trees, succulents and more will be available. See you there!

The Kresge Greenhouse is more than just plants! Did you know it’s also one of the first applied learning spaces on campus, where students can volunteer, intern, and complete their direct independent studies?

As a senior environmental science student, Caden has been working in the greenhouse with Ms. Aguilar to create a tool that will benefit green spaces and plant-related communities. After last Monday’s pouring rain, the sun shone down on us the next day as we held the garden dedication ceremony for our campus and community service members! If you missed it, we’ve included lots of photos here and you’re welcome to check out the new “UNCW” boxes with added seals from each military branch in the sustainability garden in front of the greenhouse!

Spring Break is here already! The Kresge Greenhouse wishes you a wonderful Spring Break and congratulates you on making it halfway through the semester! Go for a walk, feel the breeze, and soak up the sun this week while you relax and rejuvenate after all your hard work!!
Holidays come and go, but your support system should be here to stay! These greenhouse plants have chosen their support buddies by way of thigmotropism. Take a minute to learn this occurrence with plants. It's pretty interesting to know plants find their support too!
