The Original Game Changer.
As we close out National Physical Therapy Month, we’re spotlighting the man who started it all — Dr. Ryan Godfrey, PT, DPT — Owner, Physical Therapist, and President of the Game Changers Foundation.
In 2018, Dr. Ryan founded CTG out of a 12x15 room in the back of Port City CrossFit with a simple mission: to help athletes of all ages stay competitive, move better, and perform at their best. What began as a one-man vision has grown into a state-of-the-art facility and a passionate team setting the GOLD Standard for physical therapy and sports performance in Wilmington. ✨
From day one, Dr. Ryan’s mission has been clear:
👉 Help athletes of all ages stay competitive and perform at their best.
👉 Bridge the gap between physical therapy and performance training.
👉 Create a community built on hard work, accountability, and excellence.
As both a leader and a life long athlete himself, Dr. Ryan truly lives the mission. He’s an avid runner, currently training for the Battleship Half Marathon this November and returning as Team Captain for our Southern Tour Ultra team in January. 🏅
When he’s not leading the CTG team or supporting our community of athletes, you’ll find him spending time with his wife and their dogs, Jackson and Oakley, hiking in the mountains, or relaxing fireside during NFL Sundays and hockey season. 🏈🏒🔥
Dr. Ryan embodies what it means to be a true Game Changer — a leader driven by excellence, community, and a passion for helping others reach their full potential.
💬 Drop a comment to celebrate the man who started it all — and thank him for continuing to Change The Game for PT and sports performance in Wilmington!

🦸♂️ A true Game Changer.
October is National Physical Therapy Month, and this weekend we’re spotlighting Dr. Grant Bishop—our Golf Specialist and one of CTG’s senior PTs, with over 4 years of impact in our community. ⛳️💪
Grant earned his Doctor of Physical Therapy and Bachelor’s degree in Exercise Physiology from ECU and is a Titleist Performance Institute Certified Medical Professional. With additional certifications in SFMA, Functional Dry Needling, and Golf Biomechanics, he’s built his niche around helping golfers move better, recover from injuries, and perform at their best. He also works extensively with runners, weightlifters, and patients with vestibular and neurological conditions.
But Grant’s superpowers extend far beyond the clinic. He’s a dedicated husband and dad, and life is even fuller with his wife, his daughter, and their golden retriever 🐾 by his side. When he’s not in the clinic, you’ll find him golfing, weightlifting, running, or spending time with his family and church community.
This weekend, Grant is leading by example:
👉 On Saturday, he’ll be at the Chi Omega–Nu Lambda Charity Golf Tournament at Castle Bay, supporting the Make-A-Wish Foundation.
👉 On Sunday, he’ll take on his second marathon at the Badwater Cape Fear Marathon on Bald Head Island.
Grant embodies what it means to be a true Game Changer—whether it’s in the clinic, on the course, on the racecourse, or at home with his family.
💬 Drop a comment to wish him luck in his marathon—or share how he’s been a Game Changer in your life.
