Hello Korean Culture Society members,

The Korean culture we cherish has not been possible without some brave men’s sacrifices.

I would like to share my initiative to help George Fuller to revisit Korea.

Please read and share!! Pretty please!
***********************************************
Send a Korea War Veteran, George Fuller, to Korea!

The Revisit Korea Program for the Korean War Veterans will be gone in two years. It seems that since the Korean War Veterans are over 80 years old the long-distance travel is almost impossible for them. The number of Korean War Veterans are decreasing day by day.

Your participation in the sponsorship campaign to help George Fuller revisit South Korea will be greatly appreciated. It is more important to let him know that there are many people who honor his efforts and sacrifices than the donation amount.

Why George Fuller?

1. He can still travel long distances. His knees are weak, but he is overall in good health.

2. He wants to revisit South Korea before he dies.

3. During World War II and the Korean War he was bombed twice that resulted in him being disabled. As a result from the wars, he could not bear any children.

4. Despite all of the physical injuries and emotional sufferings, George loves the land of Korea and the people of Korea. (I’ve met many Korean War Veterans who do not want to recall their times in Korea because it is too agonizing for them).

5. Korea is a country that left a great imprint on George and the Korean War impacted him for the rest of his life.

6. He is a great commander who tries to serve other Korean War Veterans.

7. One of his wishes is to see how much Korea has progressed since the Korean War.

8. I can’t think of any reasons why we should not help him to revisit Korea.

I could go on and on about why helping George is a good deed.

I’ve pondered upon ways of fundraising for George and I inquired whether I could use the “passing through” account from my church. The church can not get involved because the fund-raising campaign is not related to missionary.

Currently, the Delaware Korean American Association does not have a federal Tax ID, and the Korean War Veterans’ treasury has been hospitalized with pneumonia for over 3 months and there are no other stipulations.

After a lot of pondering, I think we could all send individual donations to his home address.

George's out of pocket expanses is about $2,500. The estimated out of pocket amount was provided by a program manager from Revisit Korea.

If our donations is greater than $2,500, we could ask George to deliver the amount to the Homeless Vets' House in Dover.

If you have any other ideas, please share!! Pretty please.

Here is the mailing address to send your donations.

1219 EAST NEWPORT PIKE WILMINGTON DELAWARE, 19804

Write a check to George Fuller. Memo: revisit Korea And your personal message would be greatly appreciated. George will let us know daily how much he has received so we could keep track of the total amount.
