Today’s Senior x Lower School House Day was one for the books! Our seniors brought the energy from the second car doors opened this morning, starting the day with cheers, games, and some serious high-stakes relay cup stacking.

To cap it all off? Getting messy in the name of science with epic slime experiments with our older Lower Schoolers!

Nothing compares to witnessing our oldest and youngest community members connect, compete, and create together. The CFA House spirit shines at its absolute best!

Imagine the impact of a teacher who helps a student discover something they never knew they could love. 💙💛

At Cape Fear Academy, our teachers, programs, and learning experiences give students the space to explore, create, question, and discover what’s possible.
Your Annual Fund gift helps make those moments possible, from supporting our incredible faculty to providing the programs, resources, and opportunities that bring learning to life.

This is what we’re supporting during Calling All Canes Week. Help us keep imagining what’s possible for our students. Make your Annual Fund gift today!

📣 The wait is over, Hurricanes!
Calling All Canes Week is officially HERE!

🎉 Our entire CFA community is coming together to make a difference for our students, teachers, and the experiences that make Cape Fear Academy so special.
This year, we’re imagining what’s possible and coming together to help make that vision a reality. Every gift to the Annual Fund directly supports the CFA experience, and every donor makes an impact.

And don’t forget… It's time to rep your House! 🏆 Gifts made this week count toward your family’s House participation. The House with the most donors at the end of the week will earn House Points + a celebratory party! 🎉

Let’s show up, make an impact, and imagine what we can accomplish together 💙

Over the past three weeks, our 8th graders observed 22 fertilized chicken eggs generously donated by the Fee family flock, a unique hybrid mix of Salmon Faverolle, Barred Rock, and Easter Egger breeds.

After lots of patience and observation, 16 healthy chicks have officially hatched! As part of their hands-on science lessons, students were tasked with tracking the chicks' daily activities, growth, and behavioral characteristics. Welcome to the world, little ones!

Today, as a school community, we observe a moment of quiet reflection. It has been twenty-five years since the tragic events of September 11, 2001. We remember the innocent lives lost and hold their families in our hearts. This day reminds us of the strength, kindness, and unity that shine when people support one another. Today, and every day, we choose compassion, peace, and care for one another. 🕊️

🫧 Our Upper School science students used bubbles to explore how the cell membrane works! They demonstrated its flexibility and selective permeability, while learning how pores and proteins help large, polar, and uniquely shaped molecules cross the membrane. 🔬✨

Every other Monday, the entire Middle School comes together for Activity Period.

These dedicated opportunities give students time to connect across grade levels while participating in all-school assemblies and activities, character education, service projects, instructional technology, and community-building experiences.

It’s an important time to strengthen relationships, build community, learn beyond the classroom, and, of course, have a little fun! ✨
