City Ballet Company 1 students were treated last night to a surprise class with Some & Others choreographer, Lane Hagen Grosser! Her class focused on freedom of movement through breath work, connection to the ground, and creativity! At the end of class the students had the opportunity to choreograph a short piece together, guided by Lane.

Thank you, Lane, for sharing your gifts with us!

Great first day of pointe for our Apprentice Company! Thank you to Company member Rose for assisting these talented girls. Congratulations to all 10… many who took 5-7 weeks of full intensives over the summer (27 hours a week) to reach their goal 💕

The day you find out you have gotten “en pointe” is one that a dancer always remembers! 🩰 We are so excited for our new pointers! Congratulations! It takes many years of hard work to be ready for the strength required for pointe and this group of dancers has put in the work! We are so proud of you.

"I am so grateful for the kindness and encouragement that my daughter has received from her City Ballet instructors recently. It is really a gift to have my teenage daughter get into the car at pick-up and be so upbeat and positive about how she has just spent her time. There is a sense of great camaraderie and community for her and I love it! Thank you for fostering that kind of environment."
