As our summer of programming comes to a close, we want to congratulate the winners of our 2025 Scavenger Hunt! Through attending events, exploring Delaware's hidden gems, and engaging in our app, three interns have claimed victory...

Congrats to Mackenzie Skelton from Dot Foods for taking first place in this tight competition! Also from Dot Foods, Emily Facciolo snagged our runner-up spot, with Matthew Zeibari from Atwell, LLC finishing with third place.

Thanks for playing🥳

Today we're celebrating by highlighting both of our amazing summer interns!

For those involved in Intern Delaware, you've probably already interacted with Sarah Nagy, our marketing data analyst intern. She's been the force behind our programming, engaging with our corporate partners and tracking all the data for the program.

A rising senior at The University of Tennessee studying business analytics, Sarah shares that "After my internship with the Delaware State Chamber, I know for sure that Delaware is where I want to live and grow a career in."

Our other intern, Litzy Grijalba, has been a tremendous help acting as our communications intern. Working alongside our team, she's played an integral role in our marketing and communications efforts over the past weeks.

Litzy is also entering her final year of studying advertising and public relations at Barry University in Miami, Florida. Her favorite part of interning with us has been the opportunity to tell stories through our Delaware Business Magazine and to collaborate with a supportive team.

You can check out both of their works in our September/October issue of the Delaware Business Magazine next month!

"I want you to know what you have. And what we didn't have." - James "Sonny" Knot, former student of the Hockessin Colored School #107

This morning we learned the powerful history of the HCS at our Courageous Conversations Coffee and Convo. We also welcomed Tierra Fair, MPA, CVA, to lead us through a workshop on navigating difficult topics in the workplace and beyond.

Thank you Dr. David Wilk, Sonny, and Tierra for sharing your expertise and experiences with our cohort.

This morning at our Money Mentor Workshop we learned everything from setting up the correct retirement plan that matches your lifestyle to building your credit score from scratch!

Thank you George Walker, Kourtney Montanez, and Sophia Ramunno for presenting and M&T Bank for sponsoring the event. Financial success doesn’t happen by accident — it starts with the right foundation.

Today we welcomed Dr. Bryan Deptula to lead a Build Your Brand Workshop at Goldey-Beacom College!

Through this interactive session, attendees explored how to define who they are as leaders and communicate their brand with a vision. Because if you don’t build your own brand, someone else will do it for you.

Intern Delaware spent the morning giving back by volunteering at the Food Bank of Delaware!

Thank you to everyone who helped out by packaging goods and filling shopping carts for our neighbors in need.

"I love being a leader. But that's only if I can be a leader with a team."

Thank you Cathy Kanefsky, Logan Herring, and Jamar Rahming for speaking at our CEO Roundtable event this morning! From hearing about each panelist's leadership journey to the importance of finding a trusted mentor, the interns walked away with new perspectives on what it truly means to be a leader.

Our very own Intern Delaware intern, Sarah Nagy, also had the opportunity to moderate the conversation and she knocked it out of the park!

And a big thank you Belfint, Lyons & Shuman, CPAs for partnering with us on this event.
