We are excited to welcome Université de Carthage to the Green Chemistry Commitment (GCC)! 🌱

Located in Tunis, Tunisia, the Higher Institute of Environmental Sciences and Technologies (ISSTE) of Borj Cedria is dedicated to environmental education, sustainability, and the development of greener technological solutions.

Through its Green Chemistry Bachelor and Chemistry Master of Science programs, ISSTE connects to coursework, laboratory practice, and research. Students engage with green chemistry in general, organic, inorganic, analytical, and physical chemistry, as well as toxicology, environmental chemistry, SMART monitoring technologies, and faculty and student research.

As a GCC signer, ISSTE is working to green its teaching laboratories, develop circular economy and waste valorization initiatives, and strengthen collaborative research on water treatment and resource valorization. 👏

A new peer-reviewed manuscript in RSC Sustainability, led by Senior Program Manager Dr. Juliana Vidal, shares insights from Green Chemistry Commitment (GCC) signers across Argentina, Brazil, Chile, Colombia, Ecuador, Guatemala, and Mexico.

The article highlights how higher education institutions are advancing education, research, and policy in diverse local contexts while building transferable models for safer, more sustainable chemistry.
