✨ Celebrating 25 Years of KACS! ✨

Wilmington Center for Education Equity and Policy (WCEEP) co-leads Lynne Howard and Raye J. Avery, joined by Sylvia Banks, past CCAC Board President; Tracey Merritt, past Kuumba Board President; and Kristen Williams Chandler, NC100BW DE charter member, had a wonderful time volunteering alongside Angelina Peterson, Tykisha Goldsberry, Instructional Coaches, and Ken Brown, Director of Family Engagement.

Congratulations to Aissatou D. for winning the eighth grade Spelling Bee today! All eighth grade students participated in ELA class with Dr. Borish. It was an opportunity to show their Kujichagulia (self-determination) in stepping out of their comfort zones and Umoja (unity) in supporting each other.

We added extra joy to our kindergarten classrooms as we welcomed special friends to join us for a few hours to experience one of the many reasons Kuumba Academy Charter School is a great place of learning with integrated arts.

It was a wonderful opportunity to welcome new families into our village and showcase the creativity, culture, and community that make our school so special.
