Our London walking tour was a huge success! We ended up crossing back and forth between the north bank and the south bank of the Thames River via several bridges (only 3 of 17 bridges). The Millenium Pedestrian Bridge was a personal favorite. Our main goal was to see the Tower Bridge (commonly confused with London Bridge). We marveled at the Tower of London, a replica of Shakespeare’s Globe Theatre, the Old Bank of England (where we ate lunch), St. Paul's Cathedral, the Gherkin, a remnant of a Roman wall (when London was Londinium), and the British Museum (brief but memorable visit because we saw the Rosetta Stone). Phew! We were tired, but it was worth it. So long London.

Started off the day touring Windsor Castle, the King's weekend home. No pics from the inside because it's not allowed (strictly enforced). St. George's Cathedral (that's him slaying the dragon) was beautiful, and we saw the graves of Elizabeth II (the Queen Mum) and Henry VIII. Had lunch at The Prince Harry Tavern. Then on to Buckingham Palace, Westminster Abbey, and Big Ben Clock Tower and British Parliment buildings for brief stops. Ended our day with a very entertaining musical on the West End. Another great day!

Strolling the streets of Oxford today--a city to be savored slowly. Toured New College and saw the dining hall that inspired Hogwart's famous dining hall. Ambled along the Broad Walk and Grove Walk at Christ's Church (amazing views of the Oxford spires), wandered along Magpie Lane, peaked into the University Church of St. Mary's the Virgin (I was literally drawn in the by the beautiful a capella choral music), and passed through the arched breezeways of the Bodleain Library. Needless to say, it was a great day in Oxford!

Kenilworth Castle (still impressive) and Anne Hathaway’s Cottage (wife of Shakespeare)

Having a memorable time in Edinburgh, Scotland, on the first trip in many years for WCA's educational travel program! The Old Town did not disappoint--from our tour of the castle to seeing the winding street that inspired J K Rowling's Diagon Alley. Incredible!

Several WCA students attended the Health & Human Services Showcase at CFCC yesterday. They had many opportunities to explore potential programs and talk with friendly, knowledgeable faculty.

Mrs. Tyrpak unpacks some complex math equations with WCA students in an after-school ACT/PreACT Prep Session. We are excited to have partnered with IXL for skill practice as we build up to our March 25 high school ACT/PreACT testing day.
