Friday, we paused to celebrate two remarkable educators whose impact will be felt for generations to come.
As we wish kindergarten teacher Mrs. Bullard and teacher assistant Mrs. Horwath a happy retirement, we also want to thank them for the countless ways they have enriched the lives of our students, families, and school community. Through their dedication, compassion, patience, and unwavering commitment to children, they have helped shape young minds and create lasting memories for so many.
The lessons they taught extended far beyond the classroom walls. They inspired confidence, encouraged curiosity, offered comfort, and helped students grow into their very best selves.
Thank you, Mrs. Bullard and Mrs. Horwath, for your years of service, your love for children, and the difference you have made in the lives of so many. Your legacy will continue to shine brightly at Porters Neck Elementary for years to come.
Congratulations on your retirement—we wish you both endless happiness, adventure, and well-deserved relaxation in this exciting new chapter! 💙🎉🍎

🎓✨ Thursday, we celebrated the incredible Porters Neck Elementary Class of 2026! ✨🎓
What makes this group especially unique is that they are the first class to begin their elementary journey here as kindergarteners and finish it here as fifth graders. For all six years of elementary school, Porters Neck Elementary has been their home, and they have helped shape the spirit and traditions of our school along the way.
We have watched these students learn, grow, lead, and create memories that will last a lifetime. Their kindness, resilience, determination, and school pride have made a lasting impact on our community.
As they head off to middle school, we know they will continue to do amazing things. We are so proud of each and every one of them and can't wait to see what the future holds.
Congratulations, fifth graders! Once a Pelican, always a Pelican! 💙🐬🎓

🌳💙 Our Kindness Tree is growing beautifully!
In just four weeks, our Kindness Tree has blossomed with 170 student names—each one representing a moment of kindness, compassion, and positive character shown throughout our school.
This incredible milestone is a reflection of the caring culture being built every day in our classrooms and hallways. Thank you to our staff for recognizing and celebrating these meaningful acts of kindness, and a special shoutout to our amazing Kindness Kids for helping spread the message and encouraging others to make a difference.
Every name on the tree tells a story, and every act of kindness matters. Together, we are making our school a kinder place, one thoughtful action at a time! 💙🌳✨

🚚🌮🍔 Mrs. McCollough's first grade classroom was recently buzzing with creativity and entrepreneurship as students launched their very own food truck businesses! Through this hands-on project, they explored important economics concepts like goods and services, producers and consumers, wants and needs, and the role of entrepreneurs. It was so much fun watching them make real-world connections while serving up some amazing ideas! 💡✨
