Happy Principal Appreciation Month, Mr. Zatt!

From rocking in his school shoes (literally! 👞🎶) to being our Lip Sync Battle Champ 🏆🎤, Mr. Zatt has a way of bringing joy, laughter, and energy to Holly Tree in everything he does.

But beyond the fun moments is a principal who gives so much of himself to our school. His hard work, dedication, and genuine care for our students, staff, and Holly Tree community are evident every single day. He leads with heart, celebrates others, and shows up when it matters.

What will you see on the ballot?

On November 3, 2026, voters will consider a proposed $320.5 million bond referendum for New Hanover County Schools.

One of the main questions people ask is: how much will the bond cost property owners if it is approved?

Here’s the breakdown of the estimated cost:

$5 per year for every $100,000 of assessed property value

For a $400,000 home, approximately $20 per year

This reduced cost is made possible through a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) between New Hanover County and The Endowment, with funding applied to help pay the county's bond debt.

🏃‍♂️🏃‍♀️ Lace Up, Cardinals! It’s Time to STRIDE & RUN!

We’re excited to offer TWO amazing running opportunities for Holly Tree students this fall! Both programs are designed to help students build confidence, friendships, healthy habits, and perseverance while having fun and working toward their goals.

YMCA STRIDES Run Club — Boys, Grades 3–5
📅 September 21–December 6
🏃 Practice: Tuesdays & Thursdays, 2:30–3:30 PM

Girls on the Run — Girls, Grades 3–5
📅 September 21–December 6
🏃 Practice: Tuesdays & Thursdays, 2:30–3:30 PM

Registration is OPEN, and space is limited!
