Happiness is sharing the stage—and the joy of theatre!

Loyola Academy Theatre brought friendship, laughter and heart to the McGrath Family Performing Arts Center with You’re a Good Man, Charlie Brown on October 1 and 2.

A special highlight: welcoming 567 students from area Catholic grade schools for an October 1 matinee! Visiting students enjoyed the show, asked questions during a talkback and met the cast, crew and pit musicians for a closer look at the performing arts at Loyola.

Curiosity Beyond the Classroom

Great books, art and films can do more than teach us about the world. They can inspire us to see it differently.

Through the Dumbach Scholars Program, students deepen their appreciation for the humanities through thoughtful discussion, shared experiences and cultural opportunities in places such as Washington, D.C., and New York City. Along the way, they strengthen their reading and writing, expand their perspectives and form meaningful friendships with fellow Ramblers.

The most meaningful learning often happens when students are challenged to move beyond what feels familiar or easy.

As the first quarter comes to a close, Principal Steve Tortorello joins Associate Principal for Student Success Chris Penna, Social Studies Teacher Mark McGuire ’06 and O’Shaughnessy Program Teacher Molly Ostergaard to reflect on academic challenge, productive struggle and learning from setbacks.
By seeking feedback, using available resources and persevering through difficulty, our Ramblers develop the confidence, resilience and self-awareness to become more capable learners—and women and men for others.

Fall weather, familiar faces and plenty of Rambler pride! 🍁🏈

Alumni Weekend, October 1–3, brought generations of Ramblers together for inspiring conversations, milestone reunions, Mass and family fun—capped off by a 38–7 football victory over Saint Ignatius!

Thank you to everyone who returned to reconnect, celebrate friendships and make new memories at Loyola. We look forward to welcoming you back to Lake and Laramie next year!

🏈 Friday Night Football at Hoerster Field

The Ramblers take on the Mount Carmel Caravan this Friday, October 16, in the WCIU Game of the Week!

Friday, October 16 | Gates open at 5:00 p.m. | Kickoff at 6:30 p.m.

Before heading to campus, please review these important game-day reminders:

Parking on Loyola Academy’s campus is limited and available on a first-come, first-served basis. Overflow parking will be directed to New Trier, 7 Happ Road in Northfield. Shuttle bus service will not be available.

Parking on neighborhood side streets is prohibited. Violators may be ticketed by the Wilmette Police Department. Carpooling and ride-share services are strongly encouraged. The designated ride-share location is in front of the school near the flagpoles at Door 1.

Tailgating and alcohol are not permitted on campus. Air horns, whistles, sirens and other noise-making devices are prohibited by Village of Wilmette ordinance.

As guests arrive and leave campus, we ask everyone to be considerate of our neighbors and keep noise to a minimum—especially following the game.

Creativity took root at Munz Campus!

Last week, Loyola Academy’s AP Art & Design students stepped outside the studio for a day of artistic exploration with their teacher, Colleen Aufderheide LdM ’89. With beautiful weather and nature as their inspiration, students experimented with new materials, sharpened their observational drawing skills and challenged themselves to try unfamiliar techniques.

Ms. Aufderheide offered encouragement and guidance while giving students space to pursue their own creative interests. The day concluded with sharing and reflection—connecting their artistic discoveries to what they learned about themselves as artists.

A wonderful day of creativity, curiosity and growth!
