Today in Mr. Duke's Law Enforcement II and his practicum class, a graduate of WPHS came to speak to the students. Eli Nunez was a student of Mr. Duke's public safety classes. After Eli graduated from WPHS, Mr. Duke assisted Eli in getting hired at the Van Zandt County Sheriff's Office. Eli now works as a detention officer and he is on track to attend the police academy and become a police officer. Eli explained how students can chose to begin a law enforcement career, without having to attend college.
