One day, the exchange year ends.

The family doesn't. ❤️

Our ISE Longhorn Area Rep, Mark Pemberton, is once again enjoying one of his favorite traditions, a reunion with exchange students from past years.

One student wrote:

"These days were just something very special. So many new and familiar faces, warm reunions, and countless beautiful moments together."

That is the goal. Not just one great school year, but friendships that last a lifetime.

Right now, we're in the final days to find host families across Texas. Students are starting to arrive in Texas.

If you've been thinking, "Maybe we should ask a few questions," now is the time.

You don't have to have all the answers. Just an open heart and a place at your table.

Not every exchange student arrives at their forever host family right away.

A welcome family gives them a safe place to land, a warm meal, and a caring home while we find their long-term placement. Sometimes those few weeks turn into friendships that last a lifetime.

Your family might be more “host family” than you think.

Pizza for dinner. Laundry on the couch. Sports on Saturday. Netflix on Sunday. A dog that thinks every guest came to see him.

Yep. Your kind of family.

Exchange students aren’t looking for perfect homes, fancy vacations, or parents who have it all together.

They want real American life.

Family dinners. School mornings. Rides in the car. Inside jokes. Holidays. Ordinary days that become some of their favorite memories.

For more than 25 years, I’ve watched families wonder, “Could we really do this?”

Then they host, and suddenly there’s one more kid in the family photos.

Four students. Three countries. Four completely different personalities.

And somewhere, there are families who are going to look at one of these students and think, “They would fit right in here.”

Different cultures. Different interests. Different personalities.

But they're hoping for the same thing. A family who will include them in the everyday stuff. Dinner around the table. School events. Weekend plans inside jokes. The moments you don't plan often become the ones you remember.
