Howdy Counselors,

My name is Tim Burke. I am the president of the Van Zandt County Aggie Club. We are a local alumni club for Texas A&M University, connected with the Association of Former Students. Many of us are graduates from these high schools right here in Van Zandt County. We would like to support your graduating seniors that are going to attend Texas A&M University in the fall.

We are currently going to host a Howdy BBQ on July 13th, 6:00-8:30 pm, and we’d like to invite any new Aggies out of Van Zandt County and their families to join us. We will have Aggies of all ages to answer questions and engage the incoming students regarding life at A&M. The link and QR code below will allow any interested students to RSVP so that we can be prepared with food and needed items.

As our honored guests, there will be no cost for these students and their families. Students can RSVP at this link or below. A QR code is also attached if that is easier.

Congratulations to Senior, Yuri Frykholm. Yuri has received the Terry Foundation Scholarship. The Terry Foundation Scholarship is a full-ride scholarship covering all expenses. Yuri will attend Texas A&M in the Fall.

SENIORS:

Have you met all of your graduation requirements?
Have you taken or will take College Testing requirements? ( SAT, ACT, TSI, or Edready)
Will you obtain a CTE certification by the end of May?
Are you wanting to go to a Technical School after graduation?
Are you looking for work after graduation?
Are you looking to get Paid to learn on the job?

Adult life will get her before you know it, and many employers are looking for students that will be graduating. They are willing to help pay for after graduation cost for Technical/Trade schools.

If you are interested, Please fill out this form.

We will have a representative to come out and talk with you directly about after graduation workforce opportunities.

They will speak about and enroll you in the WIOA program, where you will obtain workforce education, workforce experience and get PAID while you are doing it.

Fill this form by April 30th and we will meet in May.

Spring testing is upon us. April 10, April 16, April 17, and April 23rd WPHS campus will be closed to all visitors due to testing. Please limit appointments or early sign outs on these days.
