Garden Montessori School, we encourage children to develop independence, self reliance, and a love of learning. Following the philosophy introduced by Maria Montessori, we help guide the development of the whole child, including social, intellectual, emotional and physical development, and nurture the spirit within every child. Come for a visit and learn about our school and the enriched learning we offer to your children. Currently enrolling ages 3-6 for the Fall 2012 Semester

Looking for something educational and especially fun to do with your child this summer! Teach your child about the power of solar energy! Get a large black, long plastic bag (bags can be found on science websites) and put it on the ground, in the sun. Wait and watch while the sun causes air to heat up and expand, especially with the black surface of the plastic. The energy harnessed in the Solar Bag comes straight from the sun, but we can’t actually see it!

A student practicing writing his name by tracing. ✍️ This is just one way we prepare our preschoolers for kindergarten!

In the Montessori environment, children learn to write first (using the moveable alphabet) before they learn to read. This approach allows children to put the letters for the sounds they know together into a word before they are ready to interpret and string together the sounds of a word on a page.

Look at these smiling faces 😎😎 A sense of community is important for children because it provides a context for relationships, learning, and development. It gives access to new experiences and opportunities, which broadens their horizons and builds their confidence.

We love hearing and seeing our students playing together outside of the school environment. It tells us that the community we build throughout the year holds strong. Our students friendships shift and strengthen and we love that we provided that opportunity at Country Garden.

Want to prepare your toddler for Montessori Preschool? Give them tongs!! Some activities to try out are color sorting with tongs. Match the color of an animal to a bowl, pom pom balls to these pop-it fidget toys, or large items to small items. Tong transfer activities are a wonderful way to develop fine motor skills, build hand strength, coordination, and concentration. The sorting is just a bonus!
