In celebration of Hispanic Heritage Month, the WWLCC, the 2025 Outstanding Chamber of the Year, would like to recognize Gonzalo Garcia-Pedroso, Head of School at Andrews Osborne Academy.
Gonzalo Garcia-Pedroso is the Head of School at Andrews Osborne Academy in Willoughby, where he and his family are proudly beginning their fourth year as part of the AOA community. His work is grounded in a lifelong belief that education can open doors, strengthen communities, and help people discover both who they are and how they can contribute to the world around them.
Born in New York and raised between Miami and Alicante, Spain, Gonzalo’s life has been shaped by the values of family, resilience, and opportunity. His family’s story includes Cuban refugees who fled the Castro regime... an experience that continues to inform his deep appreciation for education, service, and the promise of a welcoming community. He attended South Kent School in Connecticut before earning his degree from Moravian University in Bethlehem, Pennsylvania. In 1999, he returned to South Kent School to begin his career in education.
Throughout his career, Gonzalo has been drawn to school communities where relationships matter and where learning extends well beyond the classroom. At Andrews Osborne Academy, he is passionate about building a place where students from Northeast Ohio and around the world feel known, challenged, supported, and prepared to lead with character.
Gonzalo and his wife, Patricia Garcia-Pedroso, who teaches Spanish in AOA’s Lower and Middle Schools, are grateful to call Willoughby home. With their son, Alejandro, now a senior, and their daughter, Gabriela, a freshman, the Garcia-Pedroso family values the city’s sense of community and enjoys taking part in the many experiences that make Willoughby and Greater Cleveland such special places to live.
