🎉 What a day at the Southwest Minnesota Career Expo! 🎉

Yesterday, DREAM Technical Academy students traveled to Marshall to attend the Southwest Minnesota Career Expo, a great opportunity to explore careers, connect with professionals, and learn more about the many possibilities available after high school.

Our students also had the opportunity to experience the Junior Achievement Dream Accelerator interactive experience! 🚀 This hands-on experience challenged students to think about their futures, explore career possibilities, and build skills they can use as they work toward their dreams.

We are especially proud of our DREAM team for competing in the Career Is Right Game Show! 🏆 Kaylee and Aaron absolutely knocked it out of the park, showing off their knowledge, teamwork, and quick thinking. They made it all the way to the championship round, where a tie-breaking question ultimately landed us in 2nd place! 🥈

We couldn't be prouder of the way our students represented DREAM Technical Academy! 💙 They jumped into every opportunity, learned new things, and showed that when you DREAM big, anything is possible!

Congratulations, Kaylee and Aaron! You represented DREAM so well! 👏🎓

🌎 Exploring Globalization Through Real-World Learning at DREAM Technical Academy!

DREAM Technical Academy student Chanz recently completed a project exploring globalization. As part of his project, Chanz wanted to better understand how countries around the world are connected through the production, trade, and use of natural resources.

He chose to focus his research on oil, investigating where the United States gets its oil and how those sources connect to the global economy. But Chanz didn’t stop there! He expanded his research to explore where other countries source their oil, allowing him to compare countries and examine the global network of oil production and trade. 🛢️🌍

Through this project, Chanz was able to explore questions about the ways in which countries depend on one another. His work demonstrates how a student-driven project can take a broad topic like globalization and turn it into an opportunity to investigate a real-world question that sparks curiosity.

At DREAM, students are encouraged to follow their interests, ask meaningful questions, conduct research, and make connections between their learning and the world around them. We love seeing Chanz take ownership of his learning and dig deeper into a topic that interests him! 💙🌎

🎬 Exploring Identity Through Creativity at DREAM Technical Academy!

After watching the movie Inside Out, DREAM Technical Academy students were challenged to think more deeply about what makes each of us unique. Students created their own “Personality Islands,” inspired by the movie, to represent the interests, values, relationships, and passions that are important parts of who they are.

Dante took the challenge a step further and created three Personality Islands! 🏝️ Each island represents an important part of his personality and the things that help shape who he is.

From left to right, Dante’s islands represent Kindness, Love, and Art. ❤️🎨

His project is a wonderful example of how learning at DREAM encourages students to reflect, express themselves creatively, and connect their learning to who they are as individuals. We love seeing our students use their own interests and experiences to show what makes them unique! 💙

At DREAM, there is a place for every student to discover what matters to them and let their own personality shine! ✨

🌲🦉 Learning Beyond the Classroom at Osprey Wilds! 🦫🐍

DREAM Technical Academy students are spending three days at Osprey Wilds Environmental Learning Center, and learning is happening everywhere! 🌿

Students have been exploring and learning about:
🦅 Birds – discovering the amazing world of our feathered friends
🦔 Porcupines – learning about these unique Minnesota animals
🐍 Snakes – getting up close with some fascinating reptiles
🦫 Beaverology – learning how beavers shape and change their environment

After seeing a real beaver dam, students are putting their learning into action by designing and building their own beaver dams! 🏗️🦫

This is what hands-on, experiential learning looks like at DREAM—curiosity, collaboration, problem-solving, and learning in the real world.

We are so grateful for our partnership with Osprey Wilds and the incredible learning opportunities they provide for our students! 💚
