Not everything your child loves has to become something.

They don’t have to be the best at it.

They don’t have to win an award.

They don’t have to make the team, get the highest mark, or eventually turn it into a career.

Sometimes…

they’re allowed to just enjoy something.

Paint badly.

Kick a soccer ball around.

Sing loudly.

Learn three guitar chords and play them approximately 400 times. 😂

As parents, it can be tempting to see potential and immediately start thinking about where it could lead.

But childhood needs things that don’t lead anywhere.

Things they do simply because they’re fun.

Things that make Tuesday afternoon better.

Things that belong to them without a score, ranking, trophy, or expectation attached.

Maybe they’ll become incredible at it.

Maybe they’ll eventually move on to something else.

Either way, the joy wasn’t wasted.

❤️ Sometimes loving something is enough.

🎹 Looking for a Fresh Start with Piano?

Did your child take piano lessons before but eventually quit because they just weren’t inspired anymore? Or maybe you’re looking for something more fun and social than traditional one-on-one lessons?

I’m Paula Donofrio, a piano teacher in Willmar with 30+ years of experience teaching music and a degree in Piano Performance. I offer small-group piano lessons for students ages 8 and up, with 2–4 students per group.

My multi-level approach allows each student to work at their own level and pace, while still learning alongside other kids. Students get plenty of individual attention from me, with headphones allowing everyone to work on their own music. The result? Kids learn important piano skills while building confidence, independence, and—most importantly—a love of music. ❤️🎶

I currently have a few spots available in earlier Monday classes, as well as Tuesday and Thursday early evening classes.
