A successful faith-filled trip to DC! We feel very privileged to have had the experiences we had. Thanks to Jacie Kohler for inviting St. Joe’s to go along with her Ave Maria Catholic school group from Maple Grove, MN. ( Combined we were nickname Mapleton by our great tour guide Bob🙂)
Some highlights included
* Mass at The Basicilica of the National Shrine of the Immaculate Conception where our schools were given a shout out at the beginning of Mass and filmed live on EWTN! What a blessing to be able to celebrate the Feast of Corpus Christi the largest Roman Catholic Church of North America✝️
*Visiting Arlington National Cemetery where Adam and Charlie (along with two Ave Marie students) got to lay a beautiful wreath. Then we were blessed with a private tour of the underground Army barracks where we got to visit with guards and learn some behind the scene information about the Changing of the Guard ceremony and the guards that guard the tomb of the unknown soldier. We were lucky enough to have a former Arlington Guard with our group. 🪖
*A White House tour that allowed us to see the formal areas that are used to entertain dignitaries 🇺🇸
*A visit to the Pentagon Memorial where we were blessed with hearing an account of what happened on 911 by one of our group chaperones ( same one that was a guard) that was working in the Pentagon the day it was hit. ✝️
