Andrea Heller came to Williston after attending Ecole Alpin International School in Switzerland and later graduated from UND-Williston in 1990 with a Business degree. She spent 25 years serving the college, beginning in the Registrar’s Office before taking over management of the bookstore. Known for her positive attitude, infectious smile, and dedication to students, Andrea left a lasting impact on campus, and the bookstore was later named ANDREAs in her honor. Today, Andrea and her husband, Jon, farm outside Williston, where she enjoys gardening, baking artisanal bread, traveling, and taking culinary classes. They have two children and four grandchildren.

Williston State College is a two-year college offering associate degrees, career and technical programs, certificates, and four-year degree pathways through university partnerships. As WSC continues to grow and evolve, ANDREAs Coffee Shop and Bookstore has been reimagined as a welcoming gathering place for students, faculty, staff, and the Williston community while continuing to honor Andrea’s legacy.

We hope to see you there for this momentous milestone celebration!

Williston State College was aware of the situation involving the local public schools this morning and monitored it closely in coordination with the Williston Police Department.

The all-clear has now been given. At no time was there a known immediate threat to the WSC campus.

We appreciate the quick response and communication from local law enforcement as they worked through the situation.
