Congratulations to Thomas Sando, Aviation Instructor at the Williston Basin Career & Technical Education Center, who has been named the 2026 Third-Place National Teacher of the Year by the Air & Space Forces Association (AFA) and Rolls-Royce!

The National Teacher of the Year program recognizes educators whose classrooms inspire students toward careers in aviation and STEM.

Located on the north side of Williston High School, the WBCTEC provides career and technical education opportunities for WBSD7 students as well as students from partner schools throughout our region. Thomas's Aviation program is one example of the unique, hands-on learning opportunities available through the Center.

Congratulations, Thomas, on this outstanding national recognition! We are proud to have this caliber of instruction and opportunity available to students right here in Williston. 👏✈️

🏆🎉 Congratulations to these outstanding Williston High School students, who represented the WBCTE this week at the National Leadership & Skills Conference in Atlanta, Georgia!

🥉 A special congratulations to Keegan Ruth, who earned a Bronze Medal (3rd out of 28!) in the Nurse Assisting competition! 👏🩺

In an impressive display of academic achievement, 10 Williston High School seniors and one Alexander High School senior crossed the stage to receive their college degrees from Williston State College the weekend before their May 2026 high school graduation, earning their degrees before receiving their high school diplomas. 🤯

Due to limited seating capacity in the gym, tickets for in-person attendance have been distributed to graduates for their families and guests.
