There are moments where every page read, every academic module completed, every HIVE Mind session attended, every question you dared to ask…starts to click. You are able to apply your knowledge base in the clinical setting both through practice and simulation with your clinical faculty, as well as during real-life clinical experiences.

At NMI, we have curated a learning experience that helps future midwives trust their knowledge and themselves by the time they graduate. Our students have access to a fully updated, evidenced-based distance midwifery curriculum, clinical apprenticeship opportunities, and a team of dedicated faculty and staff that guide them on their journey.

The path to becoming a midwife is not always linear.

There can be seasons of rapid growth and there can be seasons that feel slower and less visible or palpable. Yet, each lesson completed, each birth attended adds depth to the roots you are putting down. Over time, those small daily efforts grow into something steady and strong.

Until one day, you fully transform into the midwife you have always dreamt of becoming.

A thoughtful, compassionate midwife with exceptionally strong clinical skills who is prepared to provide care such that every birthing person and their family feel valued, affirmed, and empowered in your care.

We are deeply moved by the volume of applications that have come in the first 48 hours of this invitation to join our team here at NMI.

It means so much to us to know that you see the value of our work and feel moved to join us in our mission-driven work to provide a safe, supported, and rigorous educational opportunity that meets MEAC accreditation standards. Ultimately, our goal is to prepare midwives for the reality of entry-level, community-based primary midwifery practice to meet the growing needs of birthing families.
