Bring your sewing machine and let’s take a look! As a group, we will take a look at everyone’s sewing machine and get them set up! Mild maintenance and trouble-shooting can take place! If you’re interested in learning more about your machine and others and some basic troubleshooting, this is the workshop for you! It’s also a great time to take that old sewing machine out of the closet and take a look at it.

Kids mini intro to sewing class! July 10th at 10am!

Let’s learn how to sew! In this 3 hour session, we will learn how to safely use the sewing machine, do some practice, and make a mini pillow to take home! This class is geared towards complete beginners and is a great chance to get caught up before taking a more advanced class!

Create handmade appliqué patches and learn simple, practical hand-sewing techniques with guest instructor, Nadine Demers of Crescencia! Students are encouraged to bring in a garment in need of repair (e.g. torn knees or elbows, etc.) or something they would like to embellish! Using a paper-backed fusible web interfacing, each student will create a custom patch, prepare it by folding and finishing the edges, and iron it onto the garment. The patch will then be secured with a straight whip stitch.

Skills learned:

- creating appliqué patch

- simple hand sewing techniques - straight whip stitch
