Yesterday the students massaged a licensed massage therapist as part of their Final Exam.

We received our anatomical Cheatsheets from Life-Sized Learning! This is one of seven we ordered and it features the origins and insertions of muscles located on the front of the body. The Cheatsheet provides a hands-on, visual approach to learning. We lay the sheet on top of a student and can visually see the landmarks, muscles, bones, and more.

Our massage therapy students had an incredible day of learning yesterday!

We welcomed two outstanding guest presenters who brought both hands-on expertise and valuable professional insight into the classroom. Chrystal McNary led an engaging demonstration of medical massage techniques, focusing on the psoas major and quadratic lumborum (QL), giving students a deeper understanding how to work with these important muscles.

We also had the pleasure of hosting Elan Schacter from South Piedmont Community College, who shared knowledge on the national exam, effective study strategies, kinesiology, and much more - helping students feel more confident as they prepare for their careers.

Let’s just say it was an eventful (and inspiring) day!
