Today was our first Surprise Attendance Day, and our Wildkats had no idea what was waiting for them! 🎉

We celebrated showing up with bubbles, music, dancing, and lots of smiles! 💃🕺🫧

Being at school matters, and we love finding fun ways to celebrate our students for being HERE! 💙

You never know when the next Surprise Attendance Day might be… 👀

💧 A BIG thank you to the Montgomery County Office of Emergency Management for stopping by Parmley this morning and delivering water for our students and staff!

We are so thankful for community partners who take care of our Wildkats and help make sure we have what we need. We appreciate you thinking of us! 💙💧

🌟 Student Ambassadors are officially on duty! 🌟

Yesterday was the FIRST day for our 4th and 5th grade Student Ambassadors, and we are so excited to see these Wildcats step into leadership roles around our campus!

From helping others and welcoming students to being positive role models, our ambassadors are learning what it means to lead by example and serve their school community. 💙

We are so proud of them and can’t wait to watch them grow as leaders this year!

💪 Our 5th graders are WORKING HARD!

From investigating friction through hands-on friction stations 🔬 to reviewing FANBOYS and AWUBIS sentences ✏️, our 5th graders have been busy thinking, investigating, writing, and learning!

We love seeing our Wildcats engaged and putting in the work across every subject. Keep it up, 5th grade! 💙🐾

📚 A little mystery made for some BIG learning in 4th grade!

Our 4th graders are learning how text structure supports an author’s purpose, and their teachers gave them a challenge to bring that idea to life!

Students were given a deck of cards and told to build a structure, but there was a catch… they had no idea what their structure would eventually need to do! 🤔

After they finished building, the real challenge was revealed: their structure needed to support a water bottle! 💧

That led to a great conversation about how knowing the purpose ahead of time would have helped them plan and choose a structure that fit the goal.

Then they made the connection to reading and writing: authors know their purpose and intentionally choose a text structure that helps them accomplish it.

Such a fun way to turn an abstract concept into something our students could see, build, and experience! 💙🐾

☀️ Beautiful day + recess + first grade = the perfect combination! 💙

Our first graders soaked up the sunshine today while running, playing, laughing, and enjoying time with their friends. Sometimes a little fresh air and play is exactly what you need before heading back inside ready to learn!
