Alright, choir fam! Thanks for letting us borrow 32 of your incredible students for a weekend away. There was laughter, learning, gators, peacocks, and SO much food! They represented us well!
We started with a master class with a Doctoral student: Ms. Bronwyn, at the St. Alban chapel at LSU, then made our way to New Orleans - the rain followed us, but luckily stopped just in time for our ghost tour of the French Quarter.
Day 2 consisted of an awesome swamp tour, a drive through a historical street with all of NOLA’s largest mansions, and a tour of Mardi Gras world, where we got to see the construction of the world famous parade floats. Two of our students were crowned king and queen for finding the baby in the king cake. Then it was time to get spiffed up for our dinner cruise! We hopped on the riverboat for a delicious meal and spectacular views of the city skyline at sunset. Everyone ended the night grooving to the live jazz band on board.
Day 3 was for singing! We performed at the historic St. Louis Cathedral. What an incredible opportunity! Our tour guide, Don (who was the absolute best) said we had inspired him again for the first time in a long time. We capped off the trip with some Zoo time - the kids fit right in with all the animals 🤣. So thankful to get to see our students experience so many new things. The world is so big, and these kids deserve every opportunity and joy it has to offer.
