We discovered a great book!

Friday morning, students and staff at The LEAP School had an impromptu book club. We dove into Jason Reynolds’ Long Way Down and made it about halfway through in one session.

Students at LEAP have been keeping busy! Last Friday they made personal pizza's! They also embraced the fall spirit by carving pumpkins the week before!

Last Friday, LEAP teachers and students worked together to get the LEAP building into the fall spirit! Drive by and check out their window art!

On June 17, 2020 the LEAP School celebrated its very FIRST graduating class!
We are very proud of all the students of LEAP and would like to congratulate the Class of 2020 on a remarkable accomplishment!

Carla Aronson Pomprowicz presented an Interactive Drum Program steeped in West African Culture which was 100% interactive. Each student (and teacher) was taught to play a rhythm using an authentic West African drum as they learned about life in a small West African village.

LEAP students and teachers attended The Chamber of Commerce of Eastern Connecticut monthly luncheon and were inspired by Dr. Elsa Nunez's speech. It was uplifting and inspiring to hear Dr. Nunez's story of success through perseverance and a focus on education.

LEAP learners began their art program at Spiral Arts Studio today. Students created still lifes using charcoal. LEAP is happy to work with artist Daniela de Sousa in her community art space.

LEAP learners visit Windham Area Interfaith Ministry and get a tour of the facility. The learners are interested in reaching out to the community and engaging in service learning projects.

LEAP Learners are currently enrolled in a Career Service Academy Program offered by the EASTCONN Adult Education Program. Students will earn a national customer service certificate and have the opportunity to participate in a paid internship.
