A New Journey Begins! 🚒

This weekend, the Eastern CT Fire School kicks off Firefighter I, welcoming 47 students from area fire departments who are taking their first steps into the fire service.

These students are beginning a challenging and rewarding journey filled with training, teamwork, discipline, and the skills needed to serve their communities.

We’re proud to welcome this next generation of firefighters and wish all 47 students the very best as they begin their journey!

DFSA - Connecticut Fire Academy 2027 Training Requests Now Open – Deadline July 31st

The Connecticut Fire Academy is now accepting requests for both 2027 Contract Classes and 2027 Calendar Host Classes.

To improve communication, increase efficiency, and provide a standardized process for training requests statewide, the CFA has transitioned to a fully online request system. We encourage all departments, organizations, and regional partners interested in hosting training during 2027 to begin submitting requests as soon as possible.

Important Deadline:
All 2027 Calendar and Host Class requests must be submitted no later than July 31, 2026.

Departments interested in bringing Connecticut Fire Academy training to their region are encouraged to submit requests early to assist with scheduling and program development.

It was a busy day at the Eastern Regional Fire School!

Today, our instructors were hard at work providing quality training and certification opportunities for firefighters from across the region.

🚒 Q Endorsement Practical Testing was conducted by Instructor Thurz and Instructor Hoffmann, helping candidates demonstrate the knowledge and skills required to safely operate fire apparatus.

🚙 UTV Operations Training was also underway for members of the Bolton Fire Department, led by Instructor Wallack and Instructor Knoll. The course focused on the safe operation of utility task vehicles and their effective use during emergency response incidents in challenging environments. This includes a practical component on our UTV Course on the school property.

Thank you to all of our instructors for their dedication and to the students for their commitment to continuing their professional development. Training like this ensures our firefighters are prepared to serve their communities safely and effectively.
