🎭✨ THIS IS TERRIBLY TRICKY! ✨🎭

The mystery has officially begun at WMS! 👀 Our Musical Scavenger Hunt board is up, with 30 possible shows in the running… but only ONE will remain!

Throughout October, students will follow clues, hunt down hidden posters, and eliminate musicals one by one. 🔎🎶 Which show will survive the hunt and become our 2026 WMS Spring Musical?!

🎃 The big reveal is the day before Halloween!

And there’s something else new outside our auditorium! 👀

Here we have Trevor, a 7th grader in Theatre Techniques. Trevor is demonstrating Jacques Lecoq’s 7 Levels of Tension to explore how different levels of physical tension can completely transform a performance. He’s also using fixed point technique to make invisible objects feel real to the audience.

Starting a new theatre tradition 🧱 Each class designed and built a different room for our LEGO house, with one idea behind it: making our theatre classroom a place everyone can feel at home. 🏠🎭

Over the last few weeks, they’ve been planning, building, problem-solving, and creating together—skills that matter just as much in theatre as they do outside of it.

Complete with a kitchen, living room, game room, bedrooms, basement, attic, and plenty of little details that made each space their own.

Theatre Foundations students took on Shark Tank-style Elevator Pitches, working in groups to research a topic, develop an argument, create visual aids, and ultimately convince the room!

The power to persuade connects directly to theatre—performers must sell a character, communicate a story, make strong choices, and connect with an audience. These same skills build confidence, collaboration, communication, and the ability to advocate for your ideas in everyday life. 🎭

🎭 The stage is yours, WMS! 🎭

Get ready for the 2027 WMS Spring Musical! 🎶 As always, our show will be announced before Halloween, but there’s plenty to get excited about now! 👀🎃

In the coming weeks, each core in all 4 grades will be recognized on the morning announcements. Each core will be given a riddle, that will then send the core on a scavenger hunt to find a clue for which musical is NOT the one we will be doing in the spring. Once all the "nots" have been figured out...the cover of the musical we ARE doing will be left on the board. Check out the auditorium bulletin board for more information on how to play along in the coming weeks.

Attention students who were involved in last year's musical—we will be walking to Williamstown High School to see The Outsiders!

⏰ Arrive to school normally, walk over for 9:00 AM

The end-of-year theatre celebration is in TWO DAYS! The RSVP/Flaggie Awards nomination form is now live in our bio.

Here's what to expect:

🍕Theat-Feast during Advisory/Lunch — food, snacks, drinks, and time to hang out with the
theatre crew.

🏆The 1st Annual Flaggie Awards during 6th Period - recognizing students for their growth, creativity, teamwork, performances, and some of the funnier moments from the year.

🎭Theatre Games after the awards — one last chance to play some of our favorites before summer break.

If this applies to you, make sure you complete the form in our bio by NOON tomorrow (June 17) so nominations can be finalized and we can plan for attendance and food.

Looking forward to ending the year with all of you!
