Good morning. We are in the last full week of summer and I hope everyone has enjoyed their time off. Please review the following:
1. PK and Kindergarten Orientations are on Wednesday September 2nd. Kindergarten is at 9am and Preschool is at 10am. These are open-house type orientations where the teacher will meet you in the classroom and give you an overview of the class. These typically last 30-45 minutes.
2. Class Placements: Letters have gone out via regular mail, but sometimes there is a delay. Classroom teachers have been assigned to all students. In the meantime, you can call me at the school if you haven't received the letter yet and have any questions.
3. My secretary and I are here from 8:00am to 4:00pm in the days leading up to school and are available to field any inquiries.
4. The first day of school is Thursday September 3rd. We are here the next day for school on the 4th and then are off for Labor Day on Monday September 7th.
5. School starts at 9:05am for our students and we begin dismissal at 3:30pm. For the first two days of school, we do allow PK and Kindergarten parents to walk their children into the school to help get them acclimated. After that, we will take it from there. Students overcome their initial fears and anxieties about school pretty quickly.
6. The first week of school can be hectic and the process of bus arrivals, pickups, and drop-offs will take a few days until it runs smoothly. Expect some delays. Likewise, the car arrival and drop-off line will take a few days to run smoothly.
Thank you for taking the time to review this We are looking forward to seeing our students back to school on 9/3.
Sincerely,
Mr. Lawrence
Principal
