Darling’s Counseling Service

Darling’s Counseling Service Licensed Professional Counselor in WVA & Professionally Licensed Intervention Specialist in OH. Caleb Darling is from Southeastern Ohio.

He grew up in Athens County, Ohio, and attended Federal Hocking High School, class of 2005. After continuing his education at Muskingum University (10), and earning an undergraduate degree in Special Education he began his teaching career at Newport Elementary in Washington County, Ohio. During his 13-year teaching career, he was employed by several other districts including the Washington County

Board of DD and Warren Local High School. During his teaching career, he received extensive training in ETRs and IEPs, as well as a variety of academic, instructional, and behavioral support/strategies. Caleb has used his knowledge and skills to assist individuals, parents, and caregivers with understanding their rights in the educational system. Caleb has a passion for individuals with intellectual disabilities of all ages; however, has focused explicitly on transitional youth aged 14 to 22 for the last decade. These experiences led him to seek additional education and training in emotional and mental health issues in the context of human relationships. In May of 2022, Caleb graduated from Ohio University with a Master's Degree in Clinical Mental Health and Clinical Rehabilitation Counseling and is a Licensed Professional Counselor in WV ( #3031). Caleb specializes in the following counseling areas: mental health, career and rehabilitation, child/adolescent/adult counseling, stress management, and anxiety/mood disorders. His therapeutic approach to individuals is often an integration of cognitive-behavioral, solution-focused, and reality/choice therapies. Caleb’s goal is to encourage, empower, and equip clients with appropriate education, interventions, and skills to adapt, improvise, and overcome the challenges life often brings. When he is not working, he enjoys spending time with his family and introducing his children to the joys of nature via camping, hiking, boating, fishing, and hunting. When not with his family, he enjoys hunting, working on projects around his house, working on his old truck, and spending time with friends.
