Flying like a boss and requesting your presence tomorrow (8/27/2026) for Ground School. 📣‼️THERE IS AN UPDATE TO THE TIME FOR TOMORROW’S SESSION! 📣‼️ Due to a scheduling conflict, class will begin at 7:00pm instead of 6:00pm. Carla McCay, beautiful wife of student pilot, Todd McCay takes her first flight with her husband as PIC (Pilot-in-Command) under the direction of CFI, TCI - Branson Dils. She loved it and today we highlight the Beauty (Carla) and the Beast (the Cirrus SR20 is a beast of an aircraft).

Meet Jon Cutler, student pilot, and Herd Fan!! 🧑🏼‍✈️💚🤍🦬🤍💚 Jon lives near the airport and mentioned several times to his sweet wife, Mona Cutler, that one day he wanted to learn to fly. Mona picked up on his desires and purchased a gift certificate for a Discovery Flight. It was history from there. With a little push and encouragement, Mona, said, “Stop watching the airplanes ✈️ in the air and let’s get your Discovery Flight scheduled so we can watch you fly over the house”. Two days after Christmas in 2024, Jon flew over his house while Mona watched with pride. Jon is a Chief Information Security Officer at Marshall University and spends his spare time traveling with his beautiful wife, Mona, and chasing his dream of learning to fly. Three generations out enjoying a day of flying! Brayden Tabler earned his Private Pilot’s License just a few short months ago and has put his newfound hobby to treat his family to air therapy! He put his skills to the test and passed with flying colors! Here he is with his father, Anthony Tabler, who holds a career in aviation as a Corporate Pilot for Jet Greebrier, and his grandfather, Chester who proudly took his first flight with his grandson as PIC (Pilot-in-Command). Three generations, three smiles, and three memories of a great flight! ✈️

This is Amelia Loughry, student pilot, with her instructor, Jamie Higdon and they’re here to announce 📣 Ground School this Thursday, August 20th at 6:00pm in our classroom. Jamie will be discussing Task G - Operation of Systems. Come join us for some fun and learning! There is no cost to attend and no registration required. Shout out to Amelia who will be starting school as a Freshman at Marietta High School. She will continue her flight training while keeping up with her academics. She has dreams of becoming a pilot and she’s well on her way to making that dream come true alongside her flight instructor, Jamie, who provides her with the training and encouragement to make it to the top. Her mom tells me she asks every three days if she can “go fly with Jamie”. She has the motivation to succeed and she isn’t old enough to drive, but she sure can fly! ✈️ Let’s go Amelia!! She’ll be flying solo ✈️ before driving solo 🚗!

P.S. Her sister, Elizabeth Loughry, learned to fly at River Town Aviation and earned her Private Pilot’s License with us. Keepin’ it in the family!

Meet Seth Bertram….River Town Aviation’s very own Chief Flight Instructor! Seth is very passionate about aviation and is an exceptional teacher! He not only enjoys flying and teaching, but he volunteers countless hours of his time to assist students and instructors to become safe and professional pilots. He believes in building confidence and sharing his knowledge and experience to others and in turn helping them achieve their aviation goals. Thank you, Seth, for your leadership, commitment, and dedication to the future generation of aviators!
