🌱 You may have noticed a new face in ACTC Agricultural Sciences this year! Mr. Jeremy Jones joined Mr. Trey Harris as one of our two Agricultural Sciences instructors and brings more than 20 years of experience in agricultural education.
Raised in the mountains of Western North Carolina, Mr. Jones grew up working alongside local farmers with cattle, hay, and horses. He earned his bachelor’s degree in Agricultural Education from NC State University and his master’s degree from NC A&T State University.
Throughout his career, Mr. Jones has focused on hands-on learning and building strong agricultural programs. His work has included developing hydroponics systems that supplied lettuce for a school cafeteria, expanding greenhouse facilities, increasing student participation in FFA Career and Leadership Development Events, and helping secure a $250,000 state-of-the-art greenhouse.
Outside the classroom, Mr. Jones and his wife, Melissa, enjoy fishing, traveling, movies, and spending time outdoors. They recently started raising backyard chickens and planted their first South Carolina garden.
We’re excited to have Mr. Jones bringing his experience and passion for agriculture to ACTC and helping us continue to grow our Agricultural Sciences program! 🌾🐓
