Learning Beyond the Classroom!

Our 8th grade IMPACT students took learning to new heights this past Friday with an exciting trip to Hanging Rock State Park!

Students had the opportunity to choose their own adventure—hiking to the summit or exploring several beautiful waterfalls! Along the way, they experienced firsthand the geography and natural beauty of North Carolina’s mountain region while taking in some incredible views.

What a wonderful way to bring classroom learning to life, challenge themselves, and make lasting memories with classmates!

Martin County Middle School MIMs students participated in the Battle of the Bales competition, sponsored by Martin Soil and Water Conservation. Students had a wonderful time decorating hay bales using recycled materials while showcasing their creativity, imagination, and teamwork.

We are so proud of our students for their hard work and creative designs! Everyone did an amazing job and had so much fun bringing their ideas to life!

It's Friday! Do you know what that means? Only one more weekend until the MCMS Book Fair is open! Our book Gators have been busy setting the fair up. We can't wait to see you next week!

Our fall fair starts on Monday October 12. Please click the link below for the school fair website. We will be holding special hours afterschool until 4pm for students to find that special book.

What an AMAZING day of learning at Historic Corolla Village!

Martin Innovative Middle School students spent the day exploring the rich history, culture, and natural beauty of coastal North Carolina. Students learned about the iconic Currituck Beach Lighthouse, explored the Maritime Museum, and discovered the wildlife that calls our coast home.

Through hands-on experiences, students were able to see their classroom learning come to life while making connections between history, science, geography, and the people and animals that make coastal North Carolina so special.

We are so thankful for opportunities that allow our students to learn beyond the classroom and experience the real world firsthand!

Fun Fact: 15 of our students saw a North Carolina lighthouse for the first time today!
