Congratulations to the Whitley County High School students for competing in the 4-H State Homesite Judging Contest today. they placed third in the state contest team members were Caden Conlin, Paisley McKiddy, and Logan Anderson. Caden Conlin was the top placing individual in the entire State Contest. Congratulations to the Whitley County 4-H Senior landjudging team representing the Whitley County High School. They placed first in the State 4-h competition as a team.
Team members were Clay Fuson, Kelsey Patrick, Mia Prewitt, Christian Wilson, Kaylee Bunch, Miley Wells, Jacob Alder, and Jaycee Feltner.
Clay Fuson was the top placing individual in the state, while Mia Prewitt placed second and Kelsey Patrick finished in third place individually in the state contest. This competition involves students having to judge physical characteristics such as slope, depth, texture, and drainage issues. From that information they determine the best suitable use for the land and then determine the appropriate conservation measures to be used for the property.
With a State Championship they will now advance to the National Contest In Oklahoma in early May of 2026. Congratulations again to this team for all their hard work and dedication.

On Friday, our FFA officers had the opportunity to welcome the Class of 2030 during Freshman Orientation. We enjoyed giving tours, meeting incoming students, and sharing what FFA is truly all about. From leadership and career development to community service and lifelong friendships, we hope we inspired our future members to get involved. We canโ€™t wait to see what this school year has in store.

Day 4 at ๐Ÿ’™๐Ÿ’›
Day 4 was full of teamwork, leadership, and a bunch of fun! We all put our teamwork to the test during Camp Olympics, cheered on our fellow members during the talent show, and finally wrapped up the night with a silent disco. Every activity gave us another opportunity to step outside our comfort zones, encourage one another, and make memories weโ€™ll never forget. Weโ€™re truly so beyond thankful for this experience!

Day 3 at FFA Camp is officially in the books!
On day 3, we spent the day hiking and enjoying the outdoors while making even more memories together. Every day at camp gives us new opportunities to build leadership skills, work as a team, and get to know each other better. After all of that, we finally ended the night watching an amazing fireworks show, and it was the perfect way to wrap up another fun day.

Day 2 at FFA Camp was based all around trust, teamwork, and pushing ourselves outside our comfort zones ๐Ÿ’™๐Ÿ’›
We participated in trust falls that helped us learn how important it is to rely and have confidence in one another, along with other activities that challenged us to use critical thinking and everyday problem-solving skills. Every challenge pushed us to communicate, adjust, and support each other along the way.
It was a great day of building confidence, strengthening friendships, and growing as leaders!

๐Ÿ’™ Day 1 at FFA Camp! ๐Ÿ’›
We had a great first day at FFA Camp! Day 1 was filled with leadership workshops and team-building activities that challenged us to work together, communicate, and step outside of our comfort zones. We also got the chance to meet FFA members from chapters across the state and learn from one another.
To wrap up the day, everyone headed outside for a game of kickball, which was a fun way to build friendships.
Weโ€™re excited to continue growing as leaders and making memories throughout the week.

HUGE SHOUTOUT!!! To WCHS FFA member Reese Croley who was recognized at the State FFA Convention for competing in the State Star in Agriculture Placement contest. This past year she has started working for her aunt Gina Croley at her horse training and showing operation, where Reese can be found riding, training, feeding, monitoring health, and fitting and preparing the horses for show, amongst many other things.
As a STAR candidate she is recognized as one of the best of the best across the state, as this is considered one of the most prestigious awards in all of FFA. Congratulations again to Reese Croley on such an amazing accomplishment.
